PayPal Reader and Bluetooth connection
Connect the card reader to your supported smartphone or tablet through Bluetooth. The connection works the same way for iOS and Android.
To connect the reader through Bluetooth, you can either scan the QR-code shown on the reader when powering on. Or open the Zettle by PayPal app, navigate to Settings > Card readers and follow the instructions on screen.
PayPal Reader and USB connection
- iOS (coming soon)
- Android:
Connect your point-of-sale device to the PayPal Reader with a USB cable.
The reader will charge through and can connect with the point-of-sale device. If you disconnect the cable, the reader will attempt to connect via Bluetooth.
How to setup your PayPal Dock
- Remove the base from the dock by pressing the tab at the bottom of the base and lifting the base up from the top.
- To power the dock, connect the card reader cable into the USB-C port on the back of the dock.
- To secure the card reader to the dock, turn the imbedded security screw on the back of the dock until fastened. If you don’t want to secure the reader to the dock, it will simply magnetically attach to the dock and charge.
- If you’re securing the angled base to a surface, remove the rubber feet on all four corners and screw the base in at each corner to the surface.
- Snap the dock onto the angled base. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into any of the following: power adapter, kiosk, tablet, or receipt printer.
