To protect your device and the data on it, you can enable a screen lock and set your own passcode. The first time you set up your Terminal, you will be asked to select a passcode. This can be skipped and set up later in the Terminal settings.
To keep your Terminal secure and up to date, make sure you’re using the latest version of our software. Read more about how to update the software of your Terminal.
Your Terminal also needs to restart itself every 24 hours and perform a self-test to make sure everything’s running as it should.
How do I activate the screen lock?
- Go to your home screen and tap on Settings.
- In Settings, tap on Security.
- Tap the purple toggle to on.
- Enter a 4-digit passcode and then tap OK.
- Re-enter the same passcode again and tap OK.
You will be prompted to enter your passcode to unlock the Terminal.
How do I change the passcode for the screen lock?
Follow steps 1-2 above and then tap on Passcode.
You’ll be asked to enter your current passcode and then select a new one.
How do I set a time limit for the screen lock?
You can choose how long to wait before your display turns off. You’ll need to re-enter the passcode when you want to turn it on again.
- Go to your home screen by swiping up, and tap on Settings. Tap on Display and then Turn display off after.

Why am I seeing a message about restarting my Terminal?
We need to restart your Terminal on a daily basis to keep the Terminal up-to-date and keep you compliant.
If you see a message asking you to perform the restart, you can choose to do so immediately or we’ll start a countdown which gives you time to finish the task you’re working on before it begins.
Can I change the time of the restart?
Yes! You can set a time that suits you in Settings.
- Go to your home screen and tap Settings.
- Tap on General and then Daily restart.
- Set the new time.
