Does Zettle take American Express?
Yes! With Zettle by PayPal you can offer your customers the option to pay with their American Express card – you’ll have the same transaction fee as other cards.
Magnetic Stripe transactions
Our latest card readers do not support swipe transactions with magnetic stripe cards. This functionality was removed for security reasons and helps decrease the chance of fraudulent transactions. Chip and PIN and contactless transactions are a more secure form of accepting credit cards.
Collecting signatures for payments
Card companies are phasing out signatures to be captured for chip and contactless payments in most Zettle by PayPal countries (including US and Europe). To simplify checkout experiences, you no longer need to collect signatures for most in-store payments.
Cost and fees:
For card and contactless payments, you’ll be charged a flat transaction fee. Read more about pricing and fees here.
Signage to show your accepted payment methods
Let people know which cards and payment methods you accept by displaying one of our signs. A sticker is included with every card reader order, or simply click on the image below to download a pdf version that you can print and display on your door and at your counter or cash register.
